About Anna Komenda

Anna lives in Poland with her little family: husband, two daughters and a beagle dog. She is also a scrapaholic and has been addicted for over six years. It all started when her older daughter was born. She had so many cute photos and wanted to make some pretty albums to expose them. That's how she found out about scrapbooking and it turned out that it was a very important day in her life. Since that day she's never been bored and her hands are always dirty and colourful. She loves the process of making things, framing her photos and memories. It makes her feel grateful for what she has, and helps to remember how great life is on bad days.

Pink or blue? That is not even a question for me. I am TEAM PINK for a long time. Not that I do not like blue but as a mom of two girls I am descent for pink. But seriously – who doesn’t like pink? Cocoa Vanilla Studio has so much to offer when it comes to pink papers and embellishments. That’s why I decided to mix few collection to create this very pink page.

I started with a sheet of watercolor paper and painted a circle using watercolor paints in different shades of pink. I also added few splashes here and there.

I didn’t want to cover my whole background with paper scraps so I decided to use (finally after so many years 🙂 ) my border punchers and make few fun stripes. You can spot a lot of different papers here like: “Sweet floral“, “Candy stripes“, “Dreamy“, “Frolic“, “Hip hooray“, “Party mix“, “Doodle dandy” and “Dreamer“. They are all from different collections but they have something in common – pink color.

With background as busy as mine I didn’t need much of embellishments. After all you don’t want to cover all that hard labor 😀 I chose two funny pictures of me taken with some animal filters (I always wanted to be a giraffe with glittery ears). I added a chipboard frame from “Love always” chipboard stickers sheet and surrounded it with flowers from “Bohemian dream” ephemera pack.

Few “Free spirit” puffy stickers along with glittery enamel dots were a perfect finishing touches. I created a title using white alpha stickers from “Color me happy” and a set of “Make a wish” alpha stickers.

I also have a process video for you:

That’s all for today. I hope you will join TEAM PINK too and you will create something covered with pink, glitter and all the cuteness of the world. See you in two weeks with some pretty “Bohemian dream” inspiration.

XO Anna

My big girl | Bohemian dream layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-10-26T19:06:05+00:00 October 28th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Cut Files, Design Team|

Hello crafty people. It’s Anna here with my first project with brand new “Bohemian dream” collection. It’s so pretty and full of girly colors – dream comes true for a mother of two girls. Every time I got new collection I fell a little bit overwhelmed while making my first project. Everything is to pretty to use it and I still have to much stash so making decisions is a long process 😀

After a milion flips through the papers I decided to use this pretty ombre purple paper called  “Dreamer” and made a page with my birthday girl. I added a heart cut out and backed the gaps with few papers from 6*6 pad. I just love when the collection has big papers and a paper pad. You don’t have a dilemma of cutting only a small piece from this big, pretty 12*12 paper.

Ephemera is always a good idea, right? It’s my second favourite (right after a chipboard stickers) element of this collection. I added few flowers and butterflies here and there.

Word “big” is a piece from chipboard accent stickers and this is my fav thing in this collection. And in every other too 😀

I usually finish my page using flair buttons and enamel dots and this is exactly what I did here.

I like this color combo so much. Navy, pink and purple look so good together.

That is all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks with some other project created with “Bohemian dream” collection.

Fun & awesome | You ROCK layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-10-12T02:25:29+00:00 October 14th, 2017|Design Team, Totally Rad, You ROCK|

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my project for “Your signature style” themed week. When I saw what Sue is planning for us in October I needed to think for a while to define my style. I never think of what I like, I just act, cut and glue. So after few minutes I figured that my style is all about colors, little mess and layers. As a mom of two girls I usually wander around pinks and flowers so today I will surprise you a little with boyish page.

I used fantastic “You ROCK” collection to frame this cute picture of my nephew. I started with a fun and colorful background created with gelatos.

When my background was dry, I created a cluster of papers to build layers under my picture. You can spot “Starshine“, “In line“, “This way” and “Stripped” papers along with some chipboard frame and film strip stickers.

I fussy cut stars from one of the papers and added some small ephemera pieces here and there. I love how the colors are contrasting with each other and black colors just pops up from the composition. This is really a great mix.

I also added some rubber charms words here and there. They have such a great texture and I wish I had like ten packs of them. Title created with alpha stickers from “Totally rad” collection matches “You ROCK” collection perfectly. This is what I love about all CVS collections – you can easily mix and match them and still get fantastic results.

If you would like to take a peek at my creative process I have a video for you too. With my outstanding voice – over 😀

That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks. i will show you my first projects created with bran new and absolutely gorgeous “Bohemian dream” collection.

Hot air balloon frame | Wild at heart | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-09-24T23:09:51+00:00 September 28th, 2017|Design Team, Free Spirit, Inspiration, Uncategorized, Wild at Heart|

Hello CVS fans. It’s Anna here with some fun project created with “Wild at heart” collection.

If I would have to choose my favourite craft tool it would be a Silhouette Cameo for sure. I love how versatile it is and how helpful and inspiring the cut outs can be. Project I want to share with you today is one of those inspired by the cut file. I found this fun hot air balloon box and I thought that it would look great as a frame too. I oversized it and used Cameo to cut it out.

First step was creating a base for my frame – hot air balloon. I used three papers from WAH collection to decorate it: Double dot, Grow wild, Patchwork.

After my balloon base was ready I started decorating it using all the WAH goodies.

I used a picture of me and my cute family and glues it to the balloon using cardboard pieces to add dimension. I picked few flowers from ephemera pack and placed them behind the picture. I fussy cut few butterflies from ‘Mariposa” paper and added them to my composition. I also picked some paper flowers from previous collections and spreaded them all over the balloon.

Wood veneers from “Love always” collection were a perfect match with this project.  I wanted to use this big heart for a while and I finally found a great spot to use it. I also added few flair buttons from “Wild at heart”.

I had to fill the basket of the balloon with some beach rocks because it lost the stability. This is one thing I haven’t thought of before I started adding all those layers 😀

I finished my project using rubber charms and puffy stickers from “Free spirit” collection.

I hope you like my project. It was really fun to make something else than layout. And it looks really nice on my shelf 🙂 Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks with some boy themed page.

Hello sunshine | Anna Komenda

Hello crafty people. As you probably noticed – it’s a STICKERS WEEK on Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog. I am very happy about it because let’s be honest – who doesn’t like stickers? They are so easy and fast to use, come in a variety of shapes and colors. Perfect type of embellishments.

You can find many types of stickers at CVS Store like: chipboard stickers, regular sticker, alpha stickers and puffy stickers. I mixed them together on this sunny – funny page.

I had a series of cute pictures of my little girl playing at the pool. They are mostly blue so I thought – let’s make a fun, blue background. I searched through all the CVS collections and picked every blue paper I found. I grouped them and decided to use 8 patterns together. You can spot papers from Color me happy, Wild at heart, Hello sunshine, Make a wish, You rock and Endless summer collections. I just cut a stripe of paper and combined them all together creating a whole new 12*12 paper.

With all that patterns my page didn’t need much of embellishing. Small stickers and other elements were just perfect to add them here and there.

I started with three chipboard frames from “Wild at heart” collection stuck behind the pictures. I also picked some words and small elements from “Hello sunshine” ephemera pack and sticker sheet. Puffy stickers are also a fun type pf embellishments to put on the page. I created a title using two puffy words from “Hello sunshine” puffy stickers.

Adding dimension to my pages is one of my favourite techniques while creating a layout. That’s why I love wood veneers, woodies and flair buttons. All of them used on my page are from “Hello sunshine” collection.

That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

Love you, beautiful | Wild at heart layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-08-24T22:46:21+00:00 August 28th, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, Wild at Heart|

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with another project created with “Wild at heart” collection. I just love this one and really can’t wait for new line called “Bohemian dream”. Have you seen the reveal? So many awesome items will be included in this collection. But let just come back to my project for now 🙂

I was inspired by the wood veneer words from “Wild at heart” collection and I thought I want to use them all on one page. I played with them and it lead me to this type of composition. My picture is in neutral tones so I wanted to add some color using colorful pattern papers. I decided to use this fun “Double dots” paper, both the dotted and blue side.

I was wondering if I should add a title to a page with so many words but chipboard stickers “LOVE YOU” matched perfectly.

I added some glitter enamel dots and flair buttons in the empty spaces between wooden words. I fussy cut butterflies from “Mariposa” paper and placed them randomly around my page.

I was almost run out from my ephemera flowers so I fussy cut some of them from “Luscious” paper. I like how they look peeking from behind one of the layers.

I really like how this page turned out – from simple wood veneer words idea to the finished project.

Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

So glad we’re family | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-08-11T18:01:58+00:00 August 14th, 2017|Design Team, Hello Sunshine, Inspiration, Life Is Beautiful, Make A Wish, Sugar & Spice|

Hello everyone. How are you doing? It’s Monday, time to start new week. I am counting down to my French vacation. Only 10 more days to go 😀 I am still working at my desk creating projects with my favorite CVS products. It’s a multi photo week here at Cocoa Vanilla blog so I made a layout with two pictures of my lovely daughter. I also cut a big title “So glad we’re family” because I am really proud mom of my two girls. They are two best things in my life.

I didn’t have a plan for this page. First I thought I will use “Make a wish” collection because it’s colors matches my pictures. I chose paper “Hip hooray” with navy stripes for my background and “Party dots” for the title. After I had my base, title and pictures ready I noticed that I used up almost all my “Make a wish” embellishments. So I went for a hunt and looked through some older collections for matching elements, especially flowers.

I found the oldest CVS embellishments – stickers from “Sugar and spice” collection. I used all the flowers and some other small elements. I still have some more to use for the future 🙂

I also fussy cut some flowers from one of my favorite papers “In bloom” from “Life is beautiful” collection. “Make a wish” chipboard stickers were a perfect match too.

Hello sunshineflair button and woodies matched my page perfectly too.

I love digging in my CVS stash searching for matching elements and mixing up the collections. I am rediscovering them and the possibilities they give. I hope you like my page and it inspires you to dust the older scrappy stuff to play with.

Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.
