About Anna Komenda

Anna lives in Poland with her little family: husband, two daughters and a beagle dog. She is also a scrapaholic and has been addicted for over six years. It all started when her older daughter was born. She had so many cute photos and wanted to make some pretty albums to expose them. That's how she found out about scrapbooking and it turned out that it was a very important day in her life. Since that day she's never been bored and her hands are always dirty and colourful. She loves the process of making things, framing her photos and memories. It makes her feel grateful for what she has, and helps to remember how great life is on bad days.

Hello crafty friends. It’s Anna here with my summer page based on “Endless summer” collection. It’s our assignment for this week and Zoe created fabulous, free cut files that match this collection. It looks like this:

and you can download it from here >> click.

Summer projects are always my favourite. We travel some place warm every year, with palm trees, turquoise see and blue sky so I always have some great photos to scrap. I am definitely a sea person. I could stare at waves and boats for hours. Beach is my happy place and I consider summer “wasted” if I have no chance to visit seaside.

I chose my favorite “Blue skies” paper for the background. I cut six waves shapes using white cardstock and painted them with watercolors. I also cut three clouds and backed them with vellum.

“Endless summer” collection has so many fun embellishments to play with. Ephemeras are always my favorite and I picked some of them and placed them around my page. Could those flamingos be cuter? I also added few puffy stickers and woodies here and there.

Fancy in alpha stickers? CVS has a lot of them. I chose white, simple letters from “Color me happy” collection along with jeans patterned letters from “Hello sunshine”.

My final steps with most of my pages are: adding enamel dots and splashing. This is exactly what I did here.

If you are curious how my creative process looks like, I recorded a video for you.

That’s all for today. I will see you in two weeks with soft and delicate inspiration created with ‘Love always” collection. You don’t want to miss this 😉

Thank you for stopping by.

You are the rainbow on my sky | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-06-24T06:25:10+00:00 June 28th, 2017|Colour Me Happy, Design Team, Free Spirit, Hello Sunshine, Inspiration, Totally Rad, You ROCK|

Hello everyone. Northern hemisphere is celebrating a beginning of the summer. It’s my most favorite time of the year. I love all the colors around me. Flowers, butterflies, rainbows, clear, blue sky – this is all I need to feel good and full of energy. I am trying to pour this energy into my projects. That’s why I want to show you today this colorful layout. I mixed many collections to make this page.

I started with this cute paper with little triangles from “Hello sunshine” collection. It’s so cheerful and summery. Next step was to cut the rainbow using various pattern papers in matching colors. I just went through my scraps and found pink in “Free spirit” collection, blue and green in “Color me happy” collection, yellow and orange in “Totally rad” and pink in “Sugar and spice”. I love combining different collections n one matching design.

I used white alpha stickers from “Color me happy” collection to create a title. I also searched for embellishments in matching colors to add some texture and dimension to the rainbow. You can spot there some rubber charms from “Wild at heart” and “You ROCK”. Chipboard stickers are also from “You rock” collection.

Cute woodies are one of my fav embellishments. I mixed few from various collections. I added wood veneers too. Clouds are from “Hello sunshine” collection. I also used puffy stickers and flair button from that collection too.

My inspiration for this page was this picture of my daughter lying on the striped hammock. Stripes reminded me of rainbow. Last step was to add the smallest elements like enamel dots. Once gain, I mixed several collections there.

That’s it for today. I hope You feel inspired to make your own rainbows. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

Hello everyone. Welcome in another post in our “Scrap lift week”. This time it was my turn to choose one from many fantastic pages created by CVS team and scrap lift it. I struggled a lot because I wanted to scrap lift at least 10 pages (and I probably will do in the future 🙂 ). I finally decided to go crazy with large photo and I chose page created by talented Ulrike Dold.

This is my version:

And here is a beautiful page of Ulrike.

I decided to keep it as much similar as possible. I used big picture, various paper strips, wood veneer title and small embellishments here and there. I slightly changed the color scheme from pink to pink-blue-orange. It was such a great pleasure and fun to scrap lift this page.

You all know how easy it is to combine few CVS collections in one project. And it’s exactly what I did here. I picked some pink and blue papers from various collections and added few pattern papers. I dived into “Hello lovely“, “Love always” and “Make a wish” collections I picked few papers. I combine them in triangular shapes and sew them with sewing machine.

I also created a wood veneer title. Word HEART is from “Wild at heart” wood veneers set and word SWEET is from “Love always” wood veneers set.

I also gathered matching stickers and other embellishments. You can spy cute deer from button set from “Free spirit” collection along with paper flowers from “Hello lovely” collection. I also used few puffy stickers from “Make a wish” and mix of enamel dots.

I rarely use big pictures but working with them is such a different experience. You can’t add too much of embellishments and papers because the picture is a main focus of the page. I really like creating this way I will for sure try to use more of big photos.

Stars, splashes and some dimensional elements like rubber charms and chipboard stickers are like a cherry on the top of this page. I love the final result.

Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.

Hello little man | You ROCK layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-05-26T05:52:44+00:00 May 28th, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, Totally Rad, You ROCK|

Hello crafty people. It’s Anna here with my second project created with new “You ROCK” collection. As You probably noticed after my two years with CVS, I like creating a girlish projects mostly. After all I am a mom of two girls, so I don’t have much of a choice 🙂 I always find it difficult to create masculine projects and, to be honest, I don’t enjoy it as much as creating with pink and flowers. But sometimes, when You are an aunt to the adorable 4 years old boy, You don’t have a choice 🙂

I must tell You that CVS “You ROCK” collection makes it so much easier to deal with boy pages. I love the color palette, a variety of embellishments and papers. And thing I love the most – You can dig in You stash for some older masculine CVS collections and they will match perfectly too.

I used two papers to create my background – the one with lines and one ombre blue to cut the stars. I layered them together adding smaller paper scraps to fill the stars here and there. My favourite item in this collection are chipboard stickers. They add so much dimension to the page and I love the matte finish of them. I used a chipboard frame over my picture along with some inscriptions and arrows.

I created a long, long title using different stickers and wood veneers. I really like this idea and I will try it on some other page in the future. Rubber charms are my second most favourite item. I added few of those here and there.

Wood veneers and flair button also look great. I added some acrylic stars from older collection “Totally rad”.

White and red splashes with enamel shapes finished the composition perfectly. I love the result. I need to take few more pictures of my nephew 🙂 I am starting to like all this boyish stuff.

That’s all for today. I hope You feel inspired. Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.

Dream catcher “Love you” | Wild at heart | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-05-12T04:38:27+00:00 May 14th, 2017|Design Team, Free Spirit, Uncategorized, Wild at Heart|

Hello crafty friends. It’s Anna here with my newest project created with gorgeous “Wild at heart” collection. It’s my first ever dream catcher made of embroidery hoop. It will not catch all the nightmares for sure but I hope looking at it before going to bed will bring only the best dreams. I was inspired by all the flowers You can find in “Wild at heart” collection.

My circle has a diameter about 11 inches so it’s quite big. When You add all the twines and ribbons You get a long piece of decoration 🙂

I created my own background for the hoop. I used watercolors as they match “Wild at heart” collection perfectly. My theme for this week was to create a Mother’s Day related project. I decided to use a selfie of me and my girls. It doesn’t has a best quality but I love this picture. It reminds me of my greatest treasure. When You become a mom everything changes. I would never thought that You can love someone else so hard. I know that every mom know that feeling.

I used pieces of few different papers to create a composition behind the picture. I love how contrasting those papers are. You can find coral, navy, light blue and pink and they all match perfectly. I also added two cardboard frames. There are so many to choose from.

I was so inspired by the flowers in this collection so I decided to paint and fussy cut few of my own flowers. I built a composition around my picture using a lot of 3D foam squares. I also added my favourite embellishment – cardboard stickers. They even included the perfect title for this photo.

I must confess that I already used one sheet of “Mariposa” paper to fussy cut the butterflies. You can never have enough of them 🙂 Glitter enamel dots look fantastic over my blue background and add great texture to the project.

Some flair button with butterfly and woodies from older collection “Free spirit” are a cherry on the top.

I hope You like my unusual project. It was so fun to make and it’s such an eye candy on my wall. Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.

Mr Fantastic | You rock layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-04-26T05:51:54+00:00 April 28th, 2017|Design Team, Inspiration, You ROCK|

Hello CVS fans. It’s Anna here with my first project created with brand new collection “You rock”. As You may know I am a mom of two girls loving pink and glitter. But luckily I am also a beagle mom. My cute, little boy is a perfect match for this collection. I love the colors and patterns and I definitely see this collection used in some travel projects too. There is even a cute globe.

I couldn’t decide which paper should I use first so I used almost all of them 😀 I created big title “Mr Fantastic”.

Such amount of colors and patterns needed some calm background. I used white cardstock splashed a little with three mists: teal, orange and red. I also cut few strips of paper from “Stripped” paper 🙂 I love those kind of papers – You don’t need to cut all Your papers to get only a piece.

I just love this funny picture of my dog. It was taken upside down. He was sleeping of his back and his muzzle couldn’t resist the gravity 🙂 He looks like he is smiling. In the end he really is a very happy dog 😀

This colorful title didn’t need much of embellishments to shine. I just added few stars from cardboard stickers. They are my favorite embellishment ever. I love the texture they add to the page. I also added few wood veneer shapes along with enamel shapes.

I finished my composition using some rubber charms. They are just perfect and so beautiful. Few black splatters combined all the pieces together.

I hope You like my page. Big titles are always a good idea for the page. “You rock” collection will be available in stores soon.

Thank You for stopping by and have a great day.

Hello spring layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-04-14T02:32:58+00:00 April 14th, 2017|Colour Me Happy, Design Team, Hello Sunshine, Inspiration, Make A Wish|

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here. Month ago I shared with You a layout with hand made flowers. You can check it here >>> click. Many of You asked me how I made them so I decided to create a page with similar flowers. It was just right in time as my theme for today is spring. And what is more spring than flowers? I mixed few Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection, mostly “Make a wish” and “Hello sunshine”. They both have fresh colors, perfect for framing spring photos.

I love wood grain patterns. They match every color and season. That’s why I picked this “Fresh cut” paper as my background.

I used two pictures I took few years ago. I just love this vivid blue sky and soft, pretty apple and cheery blossoms. And I even managed to catch a bumblebee flying from flower to flower. Perfect spring photo.

I used some “Make a wish” paper scraps to cut my flowers. I just sketched them on a paper and cut them. If You are not good in drawing things, You can use You Cameo and cut some flower shapes. I am sure You won’t have a problem finding matching shapes.

I made leaves using a green paper “Leaf litter” from “Color me happy” collection.

I created flower center using woodies and enamel dots from different collections.

I finished the page adding “hello spring” tittle. I mixed chipboard sticker from “Wild at heart” collection with alpha stickers from “Make a wish”. I also added some flowers from “Hello sunshine” ephemera pack.

I also have a process video for You 🙂 Remember – You ask, I listen 😀

I hope You like this page and felt inspired to make Your own spring pages.

Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.
