About Anna Komenda

Anna lives in Poland with her little family: husband, two daughters and a beagle dog. She is also a scrapaholic and has been addicted for over six years. It all started when her older daughter was born. She had so many cute photos and wanted to make some pretty albums to expose them. That's how she found out about scrapbooking and it turned out that it was a very important day in her life. Since that day she's never been bored and her hands are always dirty and colourful. She loves the process of making things, framing her photos and memories. It makes her feel grateful for what she has, and helps to remember how great life is on bad days.

Hello crafty people. As you probably noticed – it’s a STICKERS WEEK on Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog. I am very happy about it because let’s be honest – who doesn’t like stickers? They are so easy and fast to use, come in a variety of shapes and colors. Perfect type of embellishments.

You can find many types of stickers at CVS Store like: chipboard stickers, regular sticker, alpha stickers and puffy stickers. I mixed them together on this sunny – funny page.

I had a series of cute pictures of my little girl playing at the pool. They are mostly blue so I thought – let’s make a fun, blue background. I searched through all the CVS collections and picked every blue paper I found. I grouped them and decided to use 8 patterns together. You can spot papers from Color me happy, Wild at heart, Hello sunshine, Make a wish, You rock and Endless summer collections. I just cut a stripe of paper and combined them all together creating a whole new 12*12 paper.

With all that patterns my page didn’t need much of embellishing. Small stickers and other elements were just perfect to add them here and there.

I started with three chipboard frames from “Wild at heart” collection stuck behind the pictures. I also picked some words and small elements from “Hello sunshine” ephemera pack and sticker sheet. Puffy stickers are also a fun type pf embellishments to put on the page. I created a title using two puffy words from “Hello sunshine” puffy stickers.

Adding dimension to my pages is one of my favourite techniques while creating a layout. That’s why I love wood veneers, woodies and flair buttons. All of them used on my page are from “Hello sunshine” collection.

That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with another project created with “Wild at heart” collection. I just love this one and really can’t wait for new line called “Bohemian dream”. Have you seen the reveal? So many awesome items will be included in this collection. But let just come back to my project for now 🙂

I was inspired by the wood veneer words from “Wild at heart” collection and I thought I want to use them all on one page. I played with them and it lead me to this type of composition. My picture is in neutral tones so I wanted to add some color using colorful pattern papers. I decided to use this fun “Double dots” paper, both the dotted and blue side.

I was wondering if I should add a title to a page with so many words but chipboard stickers “LOVE YOU” matched perfectly.

I added some glitter enamel dots and flair buttons in the empty spaces between wooden words. I fussy cut butterflies from “Mariposa” paper and placed them randomly around my page.

I was almost run out from my ephemera flowers so I fussy cut some of them from “Luscious” paper. I like how they look peeking from behind one of the layers.

I really like how this page turned out – from simple wood veneer words idea to the finished project.

Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

So glad we’re family | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. How are you doing? It’s Monday, time to start new week. I am counting down to my French vacation. Only 10 more days to go 😀 I am still working at my desk creating projects with my favorite CVS products. It’s a multi photo week here at Cocoa Vanilla blog so I made a layout with two pictures of my lovely daughter. I also cut a big title “So glad we’re family” because I am really proud mom of my two girls. They are two best things in my life.

I didn’t have a plan for this page. First I thought I will use “Make a wish” collection because it’s colors matches my pictures. I chose paper “Hip hooray” with navy stripes for my background and “Party dots” for the title. After I had my base, title and pictures ready I noticed that I used up almost all my “Make a wish” embellishments. So I went for a hunt and looked through some older collections for matching elements, especially flowers.

I found the oldest CVS embellishments – stickers from “Sugar and spice” collection. I used all the flowers and some other small elements. I still have some more to use for the future 🙂

I also fussy cut some flowers from one of my favorite papers “In bloom” from “Life is beautiful” collection. “Make a wish” chipboard stickers were a perfect match too.

Hello sunshineflair button and woodies matched my page perfectly too.

I love digging in my CVS stash searching for matching elements and mixing up the collections. I am rediscovering them and the possibilities they give. I hope you like my page and it inspires you to dust the older scrappy stuff to play with.

Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

Sisters | Love always layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-07-28T18:51:26+00:00 July 29th, 2017|Colour Me Happy, Design Team, Inspiration, Love Always|

Hello girls and boys. How is your summer / winter going? We are in the middle of the summer school break here in Poland and I must say… Oh how I love the school days 😀 My girls are fighting constantly. Sometimes I just want to run away from all those “Mom!!!! Maja took my toy”, ‘Mom, Gabrysia is touching me”. But there are also those cute moments, when they love each other, play nicely, cuddle and are the best sisters ever.

I found this picture lately with newborn Maja and I thought they look so beautiful together and I need to make a page with this photo. I turned it into black and white version and reached for soft and pretty “Love always” collection.

I picked this lovely paper with pink stripes called “Twin set” for my background. I also cut few simple butterfly shapes using my Cameo and some paper scraps and vellum.

I didn’t glue the butteflies to my background. I only sew them through the middle. Thanks to that I gained a dimensional and whimsical background for my picture. I also added some smaller butterflies from ephemera pack and vellum accents pack.

I embellished space around my picture using chipboard stickers and puffy stickers. I only picked pink and grey elements to keep my page quite monochromatic. At the beginning I was going to add the blue color too but after my page was half done I decided I like it more with pink and grey colors only. I also added a flair button with cute inscription. I made a title using white alpha stickers from “Color me happy” collection.

I finished my page by adding few glittery enamel dots and white splatters.

I usually make more colorful pages but this one won my heart. It’s soft, pastel and brings so many good memories and emotions.

That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

I need a vitamin sea | Endless summer layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-07-11T06:36:13+00:00 July 14th, 2017|Colour Me Happy, Cut Files, Design Team, Endless Summer, Hello Sunshine, Inspiration|

Hello crafty friends. It’s Anna here with my summer page based on “Endless summer” collection. It’s our assignment for this week and Zoe created fabulous, free cut files that match this collection. It looks like this:

and you can download it from here >> click.

Summer projects are always my favourite. We travel some place warm every year, with palm trees, turquoise see and blue sky so I always have some great photos to scrap. I am definitely a sea person. I could stare at waves and boats for hours. Beach is my happy place and I consider summer “wasted” if I have no chance to visit seaside.

I chose my favorite “Blue skies” paper for the background. I cut six waves shapes using white cardstock and painted them with watercolors. I also cut three clouds and backed them with vellum.

“Endless summer” collection has so many fun embellishments to play with. Ephemeras are always my favorite and I picked some of them and placed them around my page. Could those flamingos be cuter? I also added few puffy stickers and woodies here and there.

Fancy in alpha stickers? CVS has a lot of them. I chose white, simple letters from “Color me happy” collection along with jeans patterned letters from “Hello sunshine”.

My final steps with most of my pages are: adding enamel dots and splashing. This is exactly what I did here.

If you are curious how my creative process looks like, I recorded a video for you.

That’s all for today. I will see you in two weeks with soft and delicate inspiration created with ‘Love always” collection. You don’t want to miss this 😉

Thank you for stopping by.

You are the rainbow on my sky | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-06-24T06:25:10+00:00 June 28th, 2017|Colour Me Happy, Design Team, Free Spirit, Hello Sunshine, Inspiration, Totally Rad, You ROCK|

Hello everyone. Northern hemisphere is celebrating a beginning of the summer. It’s my most favorite time of the year. I love all the colors around me. Flowers, butterflies, rainbows, clear, blue sky – this is all I need to feel good and full of energy. I am trying to pour this energy into my projects. That’s why I want to show you today this colorful layout. I mixed many collections to make this page.

I started with this cute paper with little triangles from “Hello sunshine” collection. It’s so cheerful and summery. Next step was to cut the rainbow using various pattern papers in matching colors. I just went through my scraps and found pink in “Free spirit” collection, blue and green in “Color me happy” collection, yellow and orange in “Totally rad” and pink in “Sugar and spice”. I love combining different collections n one matching design.

I used white alpha stickers from “Color me happy” collection to create a title. I also searched for embellishments in matching colors to add some texture and dimension to the rainbow. You can spot there some rubber charms from “Wild at heart” and “You ROCK”. Chipboard stickers are also from “You rock” collection.

Cute woodies are one of my fav embellishments. I mixed few from various collections. I added wood veneers too. Clouds are from “Hello sunshine” collection. I also used puffy stickers and flair button from that collection too.

My inspiration for this page was this picture of my daughter lying on the striped hammock. Stripes reminded me of rainbow. Last step was to add the smallest elements like enamel dots. Once gain, I mixed several collections there.

That’s it for today. I hope You feel inspired to make your own rainbows. Thank you for stopping by and see you in two weeks.

Sweet heart layout | Anna Komenda

By | 2017-06-12T19:50:40+00:00 June 14th, 2017|Design Team, Free Spirit, Hello Lovely, Life Is Beautiful, Love Always, Make A Wish|

Hello everyone. Welcome in another post in our “Scrap lift week”. This time it was my turn to choose one from many fantastic pages created by CVS team and scrap lift it. I struggled a lot because I wanted to scrap lift at least 10 pages (and I probably will do in the future 🙂 ). I finally decided to go crazy with large photo and I chose page created by talented Ulrike Dold.

This is my version:

And here is a beautiful page of Ulrike.

I decided to keep it as much similar as possible. I used big picture, various paper strips, wood veneer title and small embellishments here and there. I slightly changed the color scheme from pink to pink-blue-orange. It was such a great pleasure and fun to scrap lift this page.

You all know how easy it is to combine few CVS collections in one project. And it’s exactly what I did here. I picked some pink and blue papers from various collections and added few pattern papers. I dived into “Hello lovely“, “Love always” and “Make a wish” collections I picked few papers. I combine them in triangular shapes and sew them with sewing machine.

I also created a wood veneer title. Word HEART is from “Wild at heart” wood veneers set and word SWEET is from “Love always” wood veneers set.

I also gathered matching stickers and other embellishments. You can spy cute deer from button set from “Free spirit” collection along with paper flowers from “Hello lovely” collection. I also used few puffy stickers from “Make a wish” and mix of enamel dots.

I rarely use big pictures but working with them is such a different experience. You can’t add too much of embellishments and papers because the picture is a main focus of the page. I really like creating this way I will for sure try to use more of big photos.

Stars, splashes and some dimensional elements like rubber charms and chipboard stickers are like a cherry on the top of this page. I love the final result.

Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.
