Hi scrappy friends! Emma here on the blog today to share a new layout using one of my favourite collections; Totally Rad. I still love everything about this collection, the colours and designs are timeless and perfect for any type of layout.
I’m particularly obsessed with all the die-cut ephemera pieces which you may pickup by looking at my layout below 😉 This page is about Zack’s ever-changing favourite sport to play after school. At the time I took this photo he’d decided he was all about basketball so we had to head down to the courts every night after school so he could shoot hoops (which is just awesome in the middle of winter let me tell you!).
My page started by picking a few die-cut pieces and I built everything else around it. I used my Cameo to cut a few arrow shapes from white cardstock then I layered this ontop of another piece of white cardstock that I’d splattered with a few drops of mist. I actually made a teeny little mistake when setting my cut file up on the Cameo – because I try to cut multiple files when I actually use it, I’d not left enough space on each side to make the full 6″ width of my page (boo!) but to fix this I just cut a few little strips of the “Happy Snaps” pattern paper and stitched it on each side. I quite like how it finished up so it actually turned out to be a good little mistake 🙂
Once the background was finished it was jut a matter of layering all the die-cuts and putting all those fun embellishments ontop as well. I just love that little robot die-cut (it may or may not be the reason for me buying multiple packs of the ephemera pack, haha).
I typed my journaling on my computer and printed it out on plain white paper than stuck that to the sticker green label from Accessory Sticker sheet. I love the sticker sheet but I also like my embellishments to have a bit of dimension on them so to stop the pieces sticking flat to the page completely I’ll add little bits of white paper on the edges so they can fold up 🙂
Another favourite embellishment I reach for everytime has to be the woodies and the flair buttons! The designs/colour are just adorable and they add the perfect amount of dimension to a layout. I created a little cluster using them on the right side of my photo which balances out the robot and speech bubble die-cut which is underneath my photo on the left side.
And to finish off my layout I put a few of the enamel shapes around my page. I’m super happy how it finished up; it’s a bright, fun page and more importantly, I’ve got the little story of Zack’s ever-changing-favourite sport recorded 😉
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope my little page inspires you to get out some of the older collections and play with them again! Until next time, take care. Em xo
